We are greatly appreciative of your interest in spending some time with us at Gaia Ashram! The Gaia farmstay program is for people that are really interested in exploring Gaia Ashram but do not have two weeks to join us as volunteers.
Gaia is not a conventional guesthouse and we want to make sure you are aware of our offerings and come with accurate expectations of your stay.
Facilities
We want to bring to your attention that our facilities are basic and we are not like a guesthouse in the conventional sense. Here are some details of our facilities available at Gaia:
- Rooms do not have ensuite bathrooms; instead, our showers and compost toilets (waterless) are in a separate building close by
- Most of our showers do not have hot water, but guests can boil water if they want to have warm water
- Our common areas like the Gaia Sala as well as the room areas are no shoes allowed, and your feet may get dirty
Guest Expectations
Here are our general expectations of guests at Gaia:
- As a guest of Gaia, you are not expected to participate in the daily volunteer activities and are free to structure your stay in any way you like. At the same time, many of our guests like to get involved and join some of the activities and we always greatly appreciate the additional hands!
- We provide 3 vegetarian meals daily (included in the accommodation fees). As a guest, we expect you to help clean your own plates and cutlery after the meal as our kitchen is mostly volunteer-run and we do not have dedicated cleaning staff.
- At times, Gaia staff may be busy with courses and might not have time to support guests as much. If you have any questions during your stay, feel free to ask Gaia staff or volunteers if you see them and we will do our best to assist you!
