what is gaia calling?
Gaia Calling is an annual celebration take place at Gaia Ashram around Mid December every year. Gaia Ashram was found in 2013 by Tom Deiters and Sunisa Jamwiset Deiters with the support of their families and all beings lived on the land.
When the founder came to the land together in 2012 the land was a rice field belong to Sunisa’s family. When the couple looked at the barren land exposed to the sun, the soil were very dry, harden and cracked they felt the calling to be on the land and regenerate nature for the abundance of lives.
“To live in a beautiful place and a beautiful nature is a privilege. To regenerate the beautiful nature with mother earth is an honor” They chose the path of honor. They felt the calling to learn how nature regenerate ecosystems and learn how to be part of that process. “Being part of the regeneration process means that you will be very close to mother Earth. You need to learn her way, understand her way, find your part in it and flow with it effectively and eficiently while enjoying the feeling of fulfilment coming from the realisation of where you belong” -Sunisa Jamwiset Deiters
The founder had agreed to do regeneration project on the land that include regeneration of ecosystems and regenerating our deep connection with nature and reimagine ourselves as part of community of all beings. This is how Gaia Ashram project emerged.

On 13th December 2013. The elders in the local village near by where Sunisa was born were invited to bless the project by initiating a ritual of putting 9 pillars of the Gaia Sala building into the earth ground. That day then was known as Gaia Ashram officially birth day.
Every year around this time, village elders are invited to hold a blessing ritual. Gaia Ashram alumnis and friends from Ecovillage network are invited to celebrate, reconnect and share ecovillage spirit.
What do we celebrate?
It has been 10 years of effort that the founders and all the people that got involved including all the volunteers from around the world, have worked hard to regenerate lives on this barren piece of land. What have been regenerated and created include biodiversity, many education programs delivered to over 20,000 people, ecological solutions practices, a culture of people and nature co-exist, knowledge, experiences, connections, inspirations, motivation, empowerment and so much more….
How we celebrate in gaia calling?
Gaia Calling event inspired by the Issan local culture of house blessing ceremony where elders and monks are invited to chant and give blessing to the land, the house and the people live in it. We extend from blessing people to animal, plants and all beings. It is also inspired by the holistic design of ecovillage lifestyle. This event also invites special guests who come to share their stories, knowledges and experiences. This event also held in ecovillage spirit. Participants will experience the ecovillagers vibes.
