Eco Family Camp – Agroforestry & Self Reliance

7-11 October 2019(Bilingual – English & Thai)

A family oriented program to deepen the family connections & enhance family self-reliance and green living.

Why Family Camp?

Family is probably the most important unit in our human society and our human life. When one is borne and grow up with a family, it is the first place where one learns about life and the world. Time with our family at our early age is part of the root of our soul and make up who we are. Memories with our family at our early age are strong and rooted consciously and sub-consciously.

As we, humanity, collectively moving toward an era of Eco awakening, family is an important unit to play a role of education and establishing the new story for younger generations. At the other hand, the Eco awakening era is uniting us all back together as a family of the whole humanity. Every single one of us can be or needed to be part of the Eco awakening era, every single one of us, older or younger, have a role to play in changing the fate of the earth from the great unraveling to the Great Turning.

Family is where it all start, and in most cases, also is where it continue from generations to generations.

Agroforestry(Wanakaset) & Self – Reliance

Agroforestry or called in Thai “Wanapaset is a regenerative agriculture practice that learn from the wisdom of nature. It superior to the conventional agriculture is diversity which is important for an ecosystem. Not only diversity of plant and vegetation but also for animals and other life because it create better habitat for animal than mono crop agriculture in conventional agriculture. An agroforestry(Wanapaset) farm/garden is designed to meet our diverse basic needs of shelter(timber), food, medicine, energy(firewood), etc. It can be practiced in a small or big scale.

And in a story in Thai “Wanapaset”

Self – Reliance

Self-Reliance comes hand in hand with Agroforestry. With Agroforestry agriculture practice a farmer/practitioner will meet most of their basic needs from their agroforestry farm, if they design it so. An agroforestry farm can produce such a abundance in diversity that the farmer can process their crops and turn them into household goods for household use or for sale with higher values. Beyond that, there is so much joy in growing your own food, making your soap, shampoo, mouthwash, coconut oil etc, out of your own garden. Self-Reliance is not only economically benefit but also eco friendly because making your own household goods will massively reduce the energy used in big industries that produce and transport the goods to the stores and to our home. Making our own household goods also a fun and enjoyable for everyone in the family.
